Music Outreach & Concerts

Performing in ensembles is part of the school’s DNA. This includes in-house concerts, our annual concert, performances in various venues to celebrate and usher in the different cultural festivals such as Chinese New Year and Christmas, participating in music competitions in Malaysia and playing for the residents of homes such as senior citizens homes. 

The annual concert is always a wonderful time for the school as apart from the joy of watching our students grow in maturity and experience, the concert content is specifically curated to appeal to students of all ages so that as many as possible can participate. Additionally, the arrangements are almost all original arrangements by Principal Vivian and some of our teachers and designed to involve students on as many types of  instruments as we are able to organise including woodwind, brass and percussion. 

Our student ensembles have also regularly received accolades and prizes in music competitions throughout the years. 

During the recent MCOs , our string students were fortunate to play virtually with selected string members of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in a recording of an original arrangement by Principal Vivian of Malay folk songs. 

It is our core belief that by playing together out of a shared love for music, we enrich not only our students’ lives but the lives of others.
